1 Kings 5.1: 1 Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants to Solomon; for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the place of his father, and Hiram had always loved David.
1 Kings 5.2: 2 Solomon sent to Hiram, saying,
1 Kings 5.3: 3 “You know that David my father could not build a house for the name of Yahweh his God because of the wars which were around him on every side, until Yahweh put his enemies under the soles of his feet.
1 Kings 5.4: 4 But now Yahweh my God has given me rest on every side. There is no enemy and no evil occurrence.
1 Kings 5.5: 5 Behold, I intend to build a house for the name of Yahweh my God, as Yahweh spoke to David my father, saying, ‘Your son, whom I will set on your throne in your place shall build the house for my name.’
1 Kings 5.6: 6 Now therefore command that cedar trees be cut for me out of Lebanon. My servants will be with your servants; and I will give you wages for your servants according to all that you say. For you know that there is nobody among us who knows how to cut timber like the Sidonians.”
1 Kings 5.7: 7 When Hiram heard the words of Solomon, he rejoiced greatly, and said, “Blessed is Yahweh today, who has given to David a wise son to rule over this great people.”
1 Kings 5.8: 8 Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, “I have heard the message which you have sent to me. I will do all your desire concerning timber of cedar, and concerning cypress timber.
1 Kings 5.9: 9 My servants will bring them down from Lebanon to the sea. I will make them into rafts to go by sea to the place that you specify to me, and will cause them to be broken up there, and you will receive them. You will accomplish my desire, in giving food for my household.”
1 Kings 5.10: 10 So Hiram gave Solomon cedar timber and cypress timber according to all his desire.
1 Kings 5.11: 11 Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand cors of wheat for food to his household, and twenty cors of pure oil. Solomon gave this to Hiram year by year.
1 Kings 5.12: 12 Yahweh gave Solomon wisdom, as he promised him. There was peace between Hiram and Solomon, and the two of them made a treaty together.
1 Kings 5.13: 13 King Solomon raised a levy out of all Israel; and the levy was thirty thousand men.
1 Kings 5.14: 14 He sent them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month by courses; for a month they were in Lebanon, and two months at home; and Adoniram was over the men subject to forced labor.
1 Kings 5.15: 15 Solomon had seventy thousand who bore burdens, and eighty thousand who were stone cutters in the mountains;
1 Kings 5.16: 16 besides Solomon’s chief officers who were over the work, three thousand and three hundred, who ruled over the people who labored in the work.
1 Kings 5.17: 17 The king commanded, and they cut out large stones, costly stones, to lay the foundation of the house with worked stone.
1 Kings 5.18: 18 Solomon’s builders and Hiram’s builders and the Gebalites cut them, and prepared the timber and the stones to build the house.
2 Chronicles 16.0:

2 Chronicles 16.1: 1 In the thirty-sixth year of Asa’s reign, Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not allow anyone to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.
2 Chronicles 16.2: 2 Then Asa brought out silver and gold out of the treasures of Yahweh’s house and of the king’s house, and sent to Ben Hadad king of Syria, who lived at Damascus, saying,
2 Chronicles 16.3: 3 “Let there be a treaty between me and you, as there was between my father and your father. Behold, I have sent you silver and gold. Go, break your treaty with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.”
2 Chronicles 16.4: 4 Ben Hadad listened to king Asa, and sent the captains of his armies against the cities of Israel; and they struck Ijon, Dan, Abel Maim, and all the storage cities of Naphtali.
2 Chronicles 16.5: 5 When Baasha heard of it, he stopped building Ramah, and let his work cease.
2 Chronicles 16.6: 6 Then Asa the king took all Judah, and they carried away the stones of Rama, and its timber, with which Baasha had built; and he built Geba and Mizpah with them.
2 Chronicles 16.7: 7 At that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said to him, “Because you have relied on the king of Syria, and have not relied on Yahweh your God, therefore the army of the king of Syria has escaped out of your hand.
2 Chronicles 16.8: 8 Weren’t the Ethiopians and the Lubim a huge army, with chariots and exceedingly many horsemen? Yet, because you relied on Yahweh, he delivered them into your hand.
2 Chronicles 16.9: 9 For Yahweh’s eyes run back and forth throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. You have done foolishly in this; for from now on you will have wars.”
2 Chronicles 16.10: 10 Then Asa was angry with the seer, and put him in the prison; for he was in a rage with him because of this thing. Asa oppressed some of the people at the same time.
2 Chronicles 16.11: 11 Behold, the acts of Asa, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
2 Chronicles 16.12: 12 In the thirty-ninth year of his reign, Asa was diseased in his feet. His disease was exceedingly great: yet in his disease he didn’t seek Yahweh, but just the physicians.
2 Chronicles 16.13: 13 Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the forty-first year of his reign.
2 Chronicles 16.14: 14 They buried him in his own tomb, which he had dug out for himself in David’s city, and laid him in the bed which was filled with sweet odors and various kinds of spices prepared by the perfumers’ art; and they made a very great fire for him.

Luke 16.1: 1 He also said to his disciples, “There was a certain rich man who had a manager. An accusation was made to him that this man was wasting his possessions. 
Luke 16.2: 2 He called him, and said to him, ‘What is this that I hear about you? Give an accounting of your management, for you can no longer be manager.’ 
Luke 16.3: 3 “The manager said within himself, ‘What will I do, seeing that my lord is taking away the management position from me? I don’t have strength to dig. I am ashamed to beg. 
Luke 16.4: 4 I know what I will do, so that when I am removed from management, they may receive me into their houses.’ 
Luke 16.5: 5 Calling each one of his lord’s debtors to him, he said to the first, ‘How much do you owe to my lord?’ 
Luke 16.6: 6 He said, ‘A hundred batos of oil.’ He said to him, ‘Take your bill, and sit down quickly and write fifty.’ 
Luke 16.7: 7 Then he said to another, ‘How much do you owe?’ He said, ‘A hundred cors of wheat.’ He said to him, ‘Take your bill, and write eighty.’
Luke 16.8: 8 “His lord commended the dishonest manager because he had done wisely, for the children of this world are, in their own generation, wiser than the children of the light. 
Luke 16.9: 9 I tell you, make for yourselves friends by means of unrighteous mammon, so that when you fail, they may receive you into the eternal tents. 
Luke 16.10: 10 He who is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much. He who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much. 
Luke 16.11: 11 If therefore you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? 
Luke 16.12: 12 If you have not been faithful in that which is another’s, who will give you that which is your own? 
Luke 16.13: 13 No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to one, and despise the other. You aren’t able to serve God and Mammon.”
Luke 16.14: 14 The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, also heard all these things, and they scoffed at him.
Luke 16.15: 15 He said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves in the sight of men, but God knows your hearts. For that which is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God. 
Luke 16.16: 16 The law and the prophets were until John. From that time the Good News of God’s Kingdom is preached, and everyone is forcing his way into it. 
Luke 16.17: 17 But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away, than for one tiny stroke of a pen in the law to fall. 
Luke 16.18: 18 Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery. He who marries one who is divorced from a husband commits adultery. 
Luke 16.19: 19 “Now there was a certain rich man, and he was clothed in purple and fine linen, living in luxury every day. 
Luke 16.20: 20 A certain beggar, named Lazarus, was taken to his gate, full of sores, 
Luke 16.21: 21 and desiring to be fed with the crumbs that fell from the rich man’s table. Yes, even the dogs came and licked his sores. 
Luke 16.22: 22 The beggar died, and he was carried away by the angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died, and was buried. 
Luke 16.23: 23 In Hades, he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and saw Abraham far off, and Lazarus at his bosom. 
Luke 16.24: 24 He cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue! For I am in anguish in this flame.’
Luke 16.25: 25 “But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that you, in your lifetime, received your good things, and Lazarus, in the same way, bad things. But here he is now comforted, and you are in anguish. 
Luke 16.26: 26 Besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, that those who want to pass from here to you are not able, and that no one may cross over from there to us.’
Luke 16.27: 27 “He said, ‘I ask you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father’s house; 
Luke 16.28: 28 for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, so they won’t also come into this place of torment.’
Luke 16.29: 29 “But Abraham said to him, ‘They have Moses and the prophets. Let them listen to them.’
Luke 16.30: 30 “He said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’
Luke 16.31: 31 “He said to him, ‘If they don’t listen to Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded if one rises from the dead.’”

1 Timothy 5.1: 1 Don’t rebuke an older man, but exhort him as a father; the younger men as brothers;
1 Timothy 5.2: 2 the elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, in all purity.
1 Timothy 5.3: 3 Honor widows who are widows indeed.
1 Timothy 5.4: 4 But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them learn first to show piety toward their own family and to repay their parents, for this is acceptable in the sight of God.
1 Timothy 5.5: 5 Now she who is a widow indeed and desolate, has her hope set on God, and continues in petitions and prayers night and day.
1 Timothy 5.6: 6 But she who gives herself to pleasure is dead while she lives.
1 Timothy 5.7: 7 Also command these things, that they may be without reproach.
1 Timothy 5.8: 8 But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever.
1 Timothy 5.9: 9 Let no one be enrolled as a widow under sixty years old, having been the wife of one man,
1 Timothy 5.10: 10 being approved by good works, if she has brought up children, if she has been hospitable to strangers, if she has washed the saints’ feet, if she has relieved the afflicted, and if she has diligently followed every good work.
1 Timothy 5.11: 11 But refuse younger widows, for when they have grown wanton against Christ, they desire to marry,
1 Timothy 5.12: 12 having condemnation, because they have rejected their first pledge.
1 Timothy 5.13: 13 Besides, they also learn to be idle, going about from house to house. Not only idle, but also gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not.
1 Timothy 5.14: 14 I desire therefore that the younger widows marry, bear children, rule the household, and give no occasion to the adversary for insulting.
1 Timothy 5.15: 15 For already some have turned away after Satan.
1 Timothy 5.16: 16 If any man or woman who believes has widows, let them relieve them, and don’t let the assembly be burdened, that it might relieve those who are widows indeed.
1 Timothy 5.17: 17 Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and in teaching.
1 Timothy 5.18: 18 For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle the ox when it treads out the grain.” And, “The laborer is worthy of his wages.”
1 Timothy 5.19: 19 Don’t receive an accusation against an elder, except at the word of two or three witnesses.
1 Timothy 5.20: 20 Those who sin, reprove in the sight of all, that the rest also may be in fear.
1 Timothy 5.21: 21 I command you in the sight of God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the chosen angels, that you observe these things without prejudice, doing nothing by partiality.
1 Timothy 5.22: 22 Lay hands hastily on no one. Don’t be a participant in other people’s sins. Keep yourself pure.
1 Timothy 5.23: 23 Be no longer a drinker of water only, but use a little wine for your stomach’s sake and your frequent infirmities.
1 Timothy 5.24: 24 Some men’s sins are evident, preceding them to judgment, and some also follow later.
1 Timothy 5.25: 25 In the same way also there are good works that are obvious, and those that are otherwise can’t be hidden.
Wisdom of Solomon 14.0:

Wisdom of Solomon 14.1: 1 Again, one preparing to sail, and about to journey over raging waves,
calls upon a piece of wood more rotten than the vessel that carries him.
Wisdom of Solomon 14.2: 2 For the hunger for profit planned it,
and wisdom was the craftsman who built it.
Wisdom of Solomon 14.3: 3 Your providence, O Father, guides it along,
because even in the sea you gave a way,
and in the waves a sure path,
Wisdom of Solomon 14.4: 4 showing that you can save out of every danger,
that even a man without skill may put to sea.
Wisdom of Solomon 14.5: 5 It is your will that the works of your wisdom should be not idle.
Therefore men also entrust their lives to a little piece of wood,
and passing through the surge on a raft come safely to land.
Wisdom of Solomon 14.6: 6 For in the old time also, when proud giants were perishing,
the hope of the world, taking refuge on a raft,
your hand guided the seed of generations of the race of men.
Wisdom of Solomon 14.7: 7 For blessed is wood through which comes righteousness;
Wisdom of Solomon 14.8: 8 but the idol made with hands is accursed, itself and he that made it;
because his was the working, and the corruptible thing was called a god:
Wisdom of Solomon 14.9: 9 For both the ungodly and his ungodliness are alike hateful to God;
Wisdom of Solomon 14.10: 10 for truly the deed will be punished together with him who committed it.
Wisdom of Solomon 14.11: 11 Therefore also there will be a visitation among the idols of the nation,
because, though formed of things which God created, they were made an abomination,
stumbling blocks to the souls of men,
and a snare to the feet of the foolish.
Wisdom of Solomon 14.12: 12 For the devising of idols was the beginning of fornication,
and the invention of them the corruption of life.
Wisdom of Solomon 14.13: 13 For they didn’t exist from the beginning, and they won’t exist forever.
Wisdom of Solomon 14.14: 14 For by the vaingloriousness of men they entered into the world,
and therefore was a speedy end is planned for them.
Wisdom of Solomon 14.15: 15 For a father worn with untimely grief,
making an image of the child quickly taken away,
now honored him as a god which was then a dead man,
and delivered to those that were under him mysteries and solemn rites.
Wisdom of Solomon 14.16: 16 Afterward the ungodly custom, in process of time grown strong, was kept as a law,
and the engraved images received worship by the commandments of princes.
Wisdom of Solomon 14.17: 17 And when men could not honor them in presence because they lived far off,
imagining the likeness from afar,
they made a visible image of the king whom they honored,
that by their zeal they might flatter the absent as if present.
Wisdom of Solomon 14.18: 18 But worship was raised to a yet higher pitch, even by those who didn’t know him,
urged forward by the ambition of the architect;
Wisdom of Solomon 14.19: 19 for he, wishing perhaps to please one in authority,
used his art to force the likeness toward a greater beauty.
Wisdom of Solomon 14.20: 20 So the multitude, allured by reason of the grace of his handiwork,
now consider an object of devotion him that a little before was honored as a man.
Wisdom of Solomon 14.21: 21 And this became an ambush,
because men, in bondage either to calamity or to tyranny,
invested stones and stocks with the incommunicable Name.
Wisdom of Solomon 14.22: 22 Afterward it was not enough for them to go astray concerning the knowledge of God;
but also, while they live in a great war of ignorance that they call a multitude of evils peace.
Wisdom of Solomon 14.23: 23 For either slaughtering children in solemn rites, or celebrating secret mysteries,
or holding frantic revels of strange ordinances,
Wisdom of Solomon 14.24: 24 no longer do they guard either life or purity of marriage,
but one brings upon another either death by treachery, or anguish by adultery.
Wisdom of Solomon 14.25: 25 And all things confusedly are filled with blood and murder, theft and deceit,
corruption, faithlessness, tumult, perjury,
Wisdom of Solomon 14.26: 26 confusion about what is good, forgetfulness of favors,
ingratitude for benefits,
defiling of souls, confusion of sex,
disorder in marriage, adultery and wantonness.
Wisdom of Solomon 14.27: 27 For the worship of idols that may not be named 
is a beginning and cause and end of every evil.
Wisdom of Solomon 14.28: 28 For their worshipers either make merry to madness, or prophesy lies,
or live unrighteously, or lightly commit perjury.
Wisdom of Solomon 14.29: 29 For putting their trust in lifeless idols,
when they have sworn a wicked oath, they expect not to suffer harm.
Wisdom of Solomon 14.30: 30 But for both, the just doom will pursue them,
because they had evil thoughts of God by giving heed to idols,
and swore unrighteously in deceit through contempt for holiness.
Wisdom of Solomon 14.31: 31 For it is not the power of them by whom men swear,
but it is the just penalty for those who sin
that always visits the transgression of the unrighteous.
